Siberian Huskies - Glenmore Forest Park

24th January 2012
Around 2,000 spectators descended on Glenmore Forest Park to enjoy the latest Arden Grange Aviemore Sled Dog Rally.
Mushers from throughout the UK competed on tracks around Loch Morlich, with races taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
Rain on Friday meant they took place on three-wheeled rigs rather than sleds, but there was still great racing for spectators to enjoy.
Event organisers, the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain, said that although not ideal for spectators, the conditions had proved good for the dogs.
A spokeswoman said: "The weather wasn’t great for people who came to watch, but there were some very quick times this year as conditions for the dogs were good.
"It was nice and cool for them and the slushy conditions were kind on their feet. The tracks around Loch Morlich were in excellent condition.
"Generally, the spectators really enjoyed themselves. It was a great weekend and everything went really well, even parking for spectators was not an issue.
"We thank the people of Aviemore for their support and also Forestry Commission Scotland."

We went here as a family to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We had a great time even though there wasn't snow.
